In a world where cancel culture is prevalent and we are quick to write someone off, finding ways to build black culture connections are extremely important. Without learning tools to investigate why we think what we think about other Black cultures, we leave ourselves vulnerable to default patterns of division and disunity. But it is not enough to understand why. We must also have the tools to respond when it becomes difficult.

We are a couple of episodes into the Bridge to U and it’s time to synthesize what we have learned so far from our amazing guests. Black culture connections are an intentional process. Gaining knowledge is one thing. Applying what we learn is another. In this episode, I bring together the previous three episodes from Jessica Reed, Veronica Owusu, and Jennifer Tomlinson to expand the teaching and emerging themes.

In this episode, I discuss:

  1. How do we share our Black culture stories? Where do we begin even when it is uncomfortable?
  2. How can Black people raise energy and vibration about how we feel about Black cultures worldwide?
  3. Where do we look to truly pursue and discover what we want to self-actualize?

One thing I can tell you from being a coach, trainer, and communicatons expert, is even the art of sharing black stories is something many have forgotten how to do effectively. We don’t share stories for sharing stories’ sake. Our stories have a purpose, meaning, and cause.
